Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 August 2026

These terms govern your use of JobsComet (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to them. This policy may be updated as the Platform evolves; continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

1. The Platform

JobsComet connects people who offer freelance services ("Sellers"), people who buy those services ("Buyers"), employers posting jobs, and job seekers. We provide tooling for listings, messaging, payments, escrow, and identity checks. We are not the employer, agent, or party to your service contract unless we say so in writing.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate contact details (phone and/or email).
  • You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You may list as an individual or as a business. A business listing is a display label; it does not create a separate legal entity or team on the Platform. KYC, payouts, and account responsibility stay with the person who owns the login.
  • One person or business should not create accounts to evade bans, fees, or KYC.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or applicable law.

3. Gigs, jobs, and conduct

  • Listings and applications must be truthful and lawful.
  • No fraud, spam, harassment, IP theft, or illegal goods/services.
  • Do not take payments off-platform to avoid fees or escrow protections.
  • Keep negotiation and delivery communication on the Platform. Do not share personal email, phone numbers, or other contact details to move the conversation off-platform — this protects escrow, disputes, and both parties.
  • Job posts must not discriminate unlawfully under the laws of the listing country or other applicable law.

4. Payments and escrow

Freelance orders may be paid through our payment partners (for example Paystack) using Mobile Money or card. Buyer funds for eligible orders are held in escrow until delivery is accepted, auto-accepted after the stated window, or a dispute is resolved. Platform fees are disclosed at checkout or in your order summary. Payouts to Sellers may require completed KYC and a valid mobile money or bank destination. You request a payout; we process it (usually 1–3 business days). Settlement times also depend on our providers and network operators.

5. Disputes

Buyers and Sellers should try to resolve issues in the order thread first. Either party may open a dispute for eligible orders. We may review evidence and decide to refund the Buyer, release funds to the Seller, or close the dispute. Our decision for Platform escrow is final for the payment held with us; it does not limit your rights against the other party under general law.

6. KYC and trust

We may request identity documents (national ID, passport, or equivalent) and verify them with third-party providers. Providing false documents is grounds for immediate suspension. Verified status does not guarantee performance by another user.

7. Content and licence

You keep ownership of content you upload. You grant JobsComet a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and process that content as needed to operate the Platform. We may remove content that violates these terms.

8. Liability

The Platform is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or disputes solely between users. Our total liability related to a paid order is limited to the platform fees we earned on that order, except where law requires otherwise (for example fraud on our part).

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the date above and, where practical, an in-app notice.

10. Contact

Questions: support@jobscomet.com. JobsComet operates across African markets; Ghana remains our registered operating focus. Mandatory consumer protections in your country still apply where they cannot be waived.
